5 useful apps for the online marketeer

As an online marketeer, you need tools to get your message and product out into the world. Luckily, there are many useful free apps to be found.

Here are the top 5 apps that I use almost daily:

1 Canva

Canva is a free online tool that lets you design anything. Beautiful documents, posters, e-books, Instagram feeds, videos, presentations, logos and so on. The free tool has some limitations but with the basics you can get by pretty well. And if you really use it a lot you can always upgrade to a premium package.

2 Teleprompter Pro

Essential when creating video content. Teleprompter works like an autocue. Instead of reading text or keywords from paper, a window on your screen or from tactically placed post-its on your laptop😉 you read text that scrolls across your screen right in front of you.

This way you always look straight into the camera and it immediately looks a lot more professional.

You can adjust the playback speed and Teleprompter indicates how long it takes to read the text. Handy to determine how long your video will be!

Teleprompter works on your laptop and phone and when you are logged in you will see your scripts on both devices. The Android version is slightly different but works basically the same.

3 Wordswag

Top app for easily creating posts for your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc. All possible formats are included. Unsplash and Pixabay are built in for beautiful royalty free photos.

4 Quicktime Player

I work with Apple so for me the built in Quicktime Player is a natural choice for recording video. No frills, not too difficult and it does exactly what it is supposed to do: record video.

And it also works with the Teleprompter app from above.

5 iMovie

Another Apple app. Great for post-processing and editing your videos. Basic but therefore not difficult to learn. And in combination with Canva you can also create and add beautiful leaders. Then as a finishing touch timestamps in Youtube Studio and a thumbnail and you are ready for your first viral video!

A nice free alternative is Da Vinci Resolve but it has a steep learning curve because it is based on professional editing software.
