This post contains affiliate marketing links that make me money, at no extra costs for you personally.
To set up an online business, you need certain tools to ensure that you generate leads and therefore turnover. These tools also work offline. If you already have an existing company and you want to make extra turnover, you can also apply these tools. As an example, I know someone who had a restaurant and saw his turnover increase by 42% (this person is now also a full-time online marketer).
#1 Laptop
Of course it can also be done on a desktop, but the big advantage of a laptop is that you can work anywhere.
I don't know how disciplined you are, but at home there are always distractions. Still doing a load of laundry, doing the dishes or finishing the last part of your series.
Treat your online business like a regular job. So find an outside environment where you have no distractions so you can focus on what you are doing.
And at the same time, you can also generate offline leads for your business by meeting other people.
If you go to a place where many people work on their laptops, you will inevitably end up talking to someone. People are just curious by nature!
Pro tip
Cover the front of your laptop with stickers with your company logo and web address. And with motivational quotes that can trigger a reaction in other people. This way, people around you might just Google you and that leads them to your blog, service or product.
And a good laptop doesn't have to be expensive! I myself bought a refurbished Macbook pro 15" 2018 for €480. It runs like a charm, runs on the latest OS and can last for years.
#2 Sales funnel builder
To get customers to your service or product you need to build a funnel to promote your product or service. The trick of a sales funnel is that you build an email list that you can continue to use to offer new products and/or services. Because once you have gained the trust of a customer to buy something from you, the next sale becomes much easier.
You lead potential customers through your social media to a soft sales process where they have to register to get something for free. This can be a video, an e-book or something else.
There are many sales funnel builders on the market but I use the HBA funnel builder myself.
Why?
Cheap. For $25 a month you have everything you need.
An online marketing course is included, which explains step by step how to get started, how to build a funnel, how to use social media to generate leads and much more.
In your dashboard you can see exactly how much traffic your funnel generates, where the traffic comes from and what the click through rate of your pages is. This way you can clearly see if your funnel is doing what it should: generating leads.
Every time you sell the product as an affiliate, you will receive 80% commission. Every month recurring for as long as the customer continues to use the product.

#3 Auto responder
An autoresponder is email software that you connect to your sales funnel to ensure that your email list receives your emails fully automatically.
This is also part of the soft selling process. Look at yourself. How soon after you see something you want do you make a purchase? An autoresponder ensures that potential customers are reminded of your product. You can set how often and when you send your emails.
With built-in tools, you can fully customize your emails to fit your brand.
So you only have to set up a series of emails once per product and/or service and then everything goes automatically. Great, right? An invisible employee who is busy 24/7 generating leads for you so that you can focus on your product and/or service.
Here too, the offerings are many, but I use GetResponse myself. GetResponse is cheap. For €16 per month, you can create unlimited newsletters and have 1000 contacts before you have to scale up.
